PDA Alumni Recognized Among New Jersey’s Greatest Soccer Players of All Time.

Players Development Academy (PDA) is proud to celebrate a remarkable milestone as 22 alumni, spanning both the women’s and men’s game, have been named to NJ.com’s list of the 99 Greatest Soccer Players in New Jersey History.

This recognition reinforces PDA’s longstanding commitment to developing elite talent and shaping players who succeed at the highest levels of the game, both domestically and internationally.

Leading the way on the women’s side are two of the sport’s most iconic figures. Tobin Heath, ranked No. 5, and Heather O’Reilly, ranked No. 7, represent the pinnacle of excellence, each having played pivotal roles for the U.S. Women’s National Team across multiple World Cup and Olympic cycles. Their impact on the global game continues to inspire the next generation of PDA players. Both players recently were inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame, as part of the class of 2026.

The list also highlights a deep and accomplished group of PDA alumnae who have excelled at the professional and international levels, including Courtney Brosnan (#27), Addison Halpern (#38), Casey Murphy (#43), Emily Mason (#61), Amirah Ali (#63), Danielle Colaprico (#68), Frankie Tagliaferri (#70), Madison Tiernan (#74), Riley Tiernan (#75), Brianne Reed (#82), and Kristen McNabb (#84). Collectively, these players represent the strength, consistency, and developmental success of PDA’s girls program over multiple generations.

On the boys side, PDA’s influence is equally evident. Brayan Martinez leads the group at No. 23, followed by R.J. Allen (#50), Mason Toye (#55), Bryan Meredith (#69), Dan Donigan (#73), Mike O’Neill (#85), Daniel Ittycheria (#94), Rob McCourt (#95), and Todd Moser (#97). Martinez was selected 18th overall in the 2011 MLS Draft by FC Dallas following a highly decorated collegiate career at Seton Hall University. As a Pirate, he was the 2007 Big East Rookie of the Year and earned All-BIG EAST honors in multiple seasons. Born in Uruguay, the native of West Orange, N.J. was named 2006-07 Gatorade National Boys Soccer Player of the Year in 2006/07 and guided West Orange High to the NJSIAA Group 4 Championship with a 24-1 record, a No. 17 National ranking, and over his final 3 high school soccer seasons, Martinez scored over 85 goals and 87 assists.

Notably, several honorees, including Madison Tiernan, Tagliaferri, O’Neill, McCourt, Moser, and Donigan, who have continued to give back to the game through coaching and leadership roles within the PDA community, reinforcing the club’s culture of mentorship and continuity. Mike O’Neill is the current PDA Girls Executive Director of Coaching and Rutgers University Women’s Soccer Head Coach, and has been at PDA since the formation of the club.

This recognition is more than a reflection of individual achievement, it is a testament to the environment, standards, and values that define PDA. From youth development to the professional stage, PDA remains committed to building complete players and leaders who leave a lasting mark on the game.

As we celebrate these alumni, we also look forward to the future, confident that the next generation of PDA players will continue to raise the standard and add to the club’s legacy.
