On Wednesday, February 1st, all the PDA Girls signed their letters of intent to play for their respective colleges and universities.  Congratulations to all the players, families and coaches for their hard work!  The PDA is extremely proud to announce the Universities and Colleges that our players of the graduating class of 2012 will attend.

For the 2nd consecutive year, the U14 through U17 girls won this tournament! The PDA Arsenal, Clash, Slammers, and Celtic took home the trophies for one of the the top College Showcases on the East Coast.

The U14G PDA Spurs won the Penn Legacy Tournament this weekend,( the team went 4 -0-0) in the process beating the Current PA State Champs ( FC Revolution) and the Penn Legacy team.

Similar to FIFA’s all-tournament concept, the Best 11 recognizes the best eleven players in each gender age group, irrespective of their position on the field, as voted by coaches of the participating teams in that age group.

In addition to the historic trophies, the Best 11 award joins the Golden Ball, Golden Glove and Fair Play awards given out annually at the National Championships. The Golden Ball and Glove were first awarded in 1998 to the players in each division who have the greatest competitive impact in the National Championships, and has featured winners such as Robbie Findley, Jonathan Bornstein, Freddy Adu, Chris Seitz, Lindsey Tarpley, Christen Press and Kerri Hanks.
U15 PDA Slammers placed 4 players on the “Best 11” at the USYS National Championships. Rachel Corboz, Caroline Chagares, Natasha Ntone Kouo and Courtney Brosnan made the “Best 11” from the Slammers, while Daphne Corboz and Gabriella Guzman were named to the “Best 11” from the PDA Tsunami in the U19 group.
In addition, Courtney Brosnan won the “Golden Glove” title and Caroline Chagares won the “Golden Ball” title!

In a great weekend of soccer, both the U13 O’Reilly and U14 Arsenal faced great competition from around the country to emerge as champions for both age groups.

For the third time this month, PDA Slammers (NJ) faced SAC United (MD), this time to determine the Under-15 Girls US Youth Soccer National Champion. PDA would again find victory, the third consecutive, and walk away with the national title. 
 
"We're excited because of obviously winning the championship, but it's also the end product of a lot of hard work," PDA head coach Mike O'Neill said. "You want to play against the best teams that you possibly can. Winning state cup, then winning Regionals, then coming here and being the last team standing is a major accomplishment. Of all the teams in the country, only one goes home happy. We're thankful that it's us."
 
PDA opened the scoring in the 35th minute, when Julianne Minutillo collected a cross in the box and Lauren Jankowski buried the ball in the back of the net. Lauren dimes double the lead just two minutes after halftime. When SAC United needed a goal, Margaret Purce came through in the 73rd minute, scoring her tournament-leading sixth goal. PDA was able to hold off every other SAC United attack to secure the 2-1 victory.
