Fort Dix Security Procedures
Please be sure to allow yourself plenty of extra time
before your games to pass through security at Fort Dix. We recommend that you allow an additional
15 – 20 minutes before your game to proceed through Fort Dix Military Check-in. Entry is allowed through one gate only, as
per the directions – NO EXCEPTIONS. PDA
fully supports the Fort’s security efforts – no matter how much of a hurry you
are in, disrespectful behavior of any kind toward Ft. Dix authorities
will not be tolerated. In addition to
their right to deny access, any report to us of such behavior will be grounds
for exclusion from future tournaments.
Fort Dix remains one of New Jersey’s best soccer
facilities, and it is our privilege to be allowed use of it. We appreciate your respect, your
understanding and your patience.
Entry:
After passing through the checkpoint, proceed to the special activities
gate.
The
special activities gate is staffed with personnel familiar with the soccer
event going on, who can direct you if you have questions. Please proceed directly to the fields from
the gate.
Once
permitted on base, you can leave through any gate. However, be aware that some
gates close precisely at 6:00 PM, and you will be directed to the closest open
gate.
Required ID:
All
adults should bring a valid picture ID to enter Fort Dix. If you are unsure whether a person needs a
valid picture ID, err on the side of caution and bring one. Valid picture
identifications include a photo id drivers’ license or a passport.
If
you do not have a photo driver’s license or a passport, you will need to
present two forms of valid identification that are acceptable to the guard at
the control center. One must be a
photo ID. For example, a military
photo ID plus non-photo driver’s license.
Determination of acceptability is at the guard’s discretion, and again
we ask your respect for the job they are charged with. Best bet is to be sure to have a photo
driver’s license or passport.
Youth
visitors are not required to present id.
However, we do recommend that if they have a picture ID, bring it.
Questions/Emergencies:
Direct
your questions to your age group coordinators.
In the event of an emergency on the tournament days, try your age group
coordinator first, using their cell phone number. If you are unable to get through, call Sam Nellins at (973)
960-3740.
