On November 17th and 18th, 2006, the
Players Development Academy hosted a 24-hour marathon soccer match as a
charity/fundraising event. Players from the 23 PDA soccer club teams,
along with players from the PDA Urban Academy programs in New Brunswick,
participated in the marathon. All donations were split 50/50 with the Lance Armstrong Foundation. The
Lance Armstrong Foundation and the Players Development Academy are 501(c) 3
nonprofit organizations. The
Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) was founded in 1997 by cancer
survivor and cycling champion Lance Armstrong. The LAF believes that in
the battle of cancer, knowledge is power and attitude is everything.
Through programs of education, advocacy, public health, and research,
the LAF provides the practical information for people living with cancer
to live strong. For more information, visit
