PROGRAM ADVERTISING |
This year the Players Development Academy will host three tournaments: The
Boys College Showcase in November, The Spring Kickoff in April, and The Girls
College Showcase on Memorial Day Weekend.
The Club will be offering tournament programs for each tourney.
As a fundraiser the club is offering the teams the
opportunity to sell advertising in these programs. The club may use its portion of the sales to pay for the books,
the urban academy (details of academy also on the website), the scholarship fund,
or general expenses. PDA teams can make
money for their budgets with these ad sales.
After a team sells $1,000 in ads, the club splits any additional sales
50/50 with the team. For example, a
team selling $15,000 in ads would get $7,000 for their team. There is no inventory or out of pocket costs
paid for by the team. The club is
responsible for the program so there are no deliverables for the teams either. Small-sided teams must sell $750 in ads before
splitting additional sales 50/50. The
teams may start selling these ads immediately!
The ad sales forms, prices, as well as support
material will be available online at www.pdasoccer.org
under the advertising tab on the left side of the page. The $1,000 number is very easily attainable
with a full-page ad for three tournaments being $1350. The smallest ad for
three tourneys is a 1/8th page ad (the size of a business card) for
$165. Obviously getting a commitment
for three tourneys is the best value for the vendors and for your teams. This means it is important to get off to a
fast start to maximize your fundraising.
The first ad sales deadline is November 10th,
and the subsequent deadlines will generally be the Saturday two weeks before
the tourney. A transaction will be complete
when the club Ad Sales Coordinator has received: the order form, which includes
the ad size, the team who sold it, and the number of tourneys; the check made
out to PDA; and the ad copy. It is
easiest for everyone if they are all delivered at the same time. Ad copy should be transmitted electronically
to the club Ad Sales Coordinator. This
format is preferred as it can be forwarded directly to the printer. If necessary, a hard copy of the ad copy
will be accepted.
We look forward to a great year again this
year. Many teams have used this as a
valuable tool for meeting budget shortfalls. This includes paying for winter
training, extra roster spots, equipment or additional uniforms for the teams. We know it works so make it work for
you. Good Luck!
